Video Library enables organisations, both big and small, to keep a video archive that is instantly accessible to anyone over the corporate network.
Organisations find themselves more dispersed than ever before. Teams can be spread across different offices and time zones; project workers can be seconded to a client for years. Communicating with and engaging these employees presents a real challenge.
Video Library features a powerful Content Management System to make publishing and managing material extremely simple. Many organisations use labour-intensive processes to circulate their video content, often involving several areas of the IT department. One person encodes the video, another distributes the content manually, and another updates the Intranet site. These methods delay content delivery to end users and are expensive.
Video Library puts the content creator, rather than the IT department, in full control. When new content is ready, the creator uploads it using Video Publisher or any standard FTP client directly to the Video Library server. Information such as the title and description are read from the video and are inserted into the program listing automatically. End users can view new videos on their PCs the moment they are uploaded.
Video Library beams media-rich content to where it is needed, without user intervention. High bandwidth video, currently available only to users in major offices, can now be delivered to everyone in the organisation, regardless of location. Traditional distribution techniques are very demanding on the network.
Quite often, users based in branch offices or at home do not have sufficient connectivity to tune in. Video Library works differently. By trickle-feeding files at scheduled times using unused bandwidth, branch offices and remote home users can receive high quality video with any level of connectivity, even a dialup modem.
